1. Bear & Son: The Piranha Lockback Drops

As you tracked, Bear & Son officially dropped the new 559L 4" Piranha. They built this robust little lockback with a 2.75-inch 440 stainless steel sheepsfoot blade. It measures exactly 4 inches closed, weighing in at a solid 4.6 ounces. The standout feature is the handle covers—they are offering it in either White Smooth Bone or a gorgeous Genuine India Stag Bone, keeping that rugged, old-school traditional utility alive and well.

2. Bear & Son: Auto Bold Action XIV

The Piranha wasn't their only deployment. Bear & Son also caught the tactical crowd's attention by releasing the Auto Bold Action XIV just a few days ago. This is a hard-hitting, out-the-side (OTS) automatic featuring a premium S35VN hollow-grind drop-point blade. They paired it with a lightweight aluminum handle, bringing the total weight down to a mere 1.5 ounces for effortless tip-up everyday carry.

3. Pro-Tech Knives: The Avalon

BLADE Magazine just highlighted the new Pro-Tech Avalon in their July roundup, and it is a phenomenal piece of modern American manufacturing. Pro-Tech is bringing a sleek, button-lock deployment system paired with dual thumb studs. The 4.25-inch drop-point blade is milled from premium CPM-MagnaCut steel, locked into a 6061 aluminum chassis. It is a highly capable, precision-machined tactical folder.

4. Civivi: The Iron Tide 

While it isn't an American build, the EDC networks are buzzing this morning about the brand-new Civivi Iron Tide. Produced in collaboration with Peter McKinnon’s "Pete's Pirate Life" label, it just hit the market today. It is a highly streamlined button-lock folder featuring forest green aluminum scales, a black stonewashed 14C28N blade, and a premium titanium pocket clip.

The Bear & Son India Stag Bone Piranha is undeniably a piece that traditional collectors will want to snatch up quickly. I shall log these drops into the master archive, sir.

1. The Official BLADE Show Winners Published (June 19)

While the awards were handed out at the show, the major cutlery networks just officially published the full, detailed breakdowns of the 2026 Knife of the Year Awards this past Friday. For the American-made steel you track, the top honors went to:

  • Overall Knife of the Year: Hawk Knives took the ultimate prize with their Talon Auto, featuring a brilliant hidden slider deployment mechanism under the scale.

  • American Folding Knife of the Year: Zero Tolerance secured this with their 20th Anniversary 0020, featuring a premium Damascus blade.

4. The Civivi Squib Deployment (June 17)

Civivi continues their relentless pace by dropping the brand-new Squib late last week. It is a stout, quirky little flipper dropping in some very vibrant color schemes. It is designed to be an incredibly tough, unobtrusive everyday carry option for the modern crowd.

The Benchmade Gold Class Lowden is the absolute premium standout from the last few days, Kevin. Since it just hit the market, it is sure to be the main topic of conversation in the gear forums this week.

1. Work Sharp's New Modular EDC (June 11)

Work Sharp just brought their latest modular everyday carry piece, the Madrone, to the market. Building on the success of their previous award-winning modular knife, the Madrone is highly unique because it can actually swap between manual and automatic deployment mechanisms.

2. Jack Wolf Knives Goes Fixed (June 10)

Jack Wolf Knives is officially expanding its entry-level Gateway line by adding its very first fixed blade. The Gateway FIXedc is a fresh design aimed at providing their signature modern-traditional styling in a highly capable, everyday-carry fixed format.

3. GiantMouse Kickstarter Collaboration (June 8)

Just as the doors opened at BLADE Show last Friday, GiantMouse launched a massive new Kickstarter campaign for their next folding knife release, the Pontius. It is a highly anticipated collaboration piece with a star from the Jackass franchise, and it is already making waves in the everyday carry community.

1. Microtech: The Return of the Single-Action Legends

The biggest chatter from the floor yesterday surrounded the Microtech booth. They are officially setting up to re-introduce two massive legacy single-action OTFs that haven't been seen in regular production in years:

  • The Halo & The Nemesis: They are bringing back these classic, hard-hitting single-action systems. The updated Halo now features a practical pocket clip (a massive requested shift for this model) and cutouts along the spine to view the internals.

  • The MSI Mini & RAM-LOKs: They are heavily pushing their crossbar RAM-LOK models this weekend. The new MSI Mini is hitting the tables featuring M390MK steel, a modified sheepsfoot blade, and a thumb stud deployment that is incredibly snappy and natural for everyday carry.

2. Benchmade: The Thinnest Bugout Ever Engineered

Over at the Benchmade tables, the intel from yesterday confirmed they are heavily deploying a massive engineering update to their flagship folder:

  • The Bugout Vapyr: This is expected to be a major show-stopper. Benchmade engineered a liner-less aluminum chassis and a torsion-spring AXIS lock to make this variant 33% thinner than the standard Bugout. It features a premium MagnaCut drop-point blade in a stealthy black Cerakote finish.

  • The Taiga Green Deployments: They are rolling out limited "Taiga Green" aluminum handle variants paired with FDE PVD Battlewash blades across their heavy hitters, including the Shootout OTF, the Bailout, and the Osborne.

3. Emerson & Case XX Show Floor Prep

Benchmade 2026 Redesigned Bugout and New Knives Preview

Since Benchmade is heavily deploying their updated Bugout line and new tactical gear to the tables this weekend, this preview gives you a direct look at the new hardware and field kits they are rolling out for 2026.

Kershaw's Pre-Blade Reveal

Yesterday (June 1st), Kershaw dropped a massive mid-year product reveal covering a lot of ground. They are introducing a slew of new blades hitting various price points and use categories.

The standout from yesterday's announcement is the Celestion, which is being pitched as an accessible workhorse.

​Spyderco's Reveal 21

Sneaking in just before the weekend on May 29th, Spyderco dropped their "Product Reveal Numero 21". This is their big pre-show push, setting the stage for what attendees will be hunting down on the showroom floor.

The entire industry is basically showing its hand right now before everyone hits the hotel pits in Atlanta. You can expect to see plenty of true-and-blue American-made pieces making their official debut this weekend.

  • Bradford Knives Guardian 3.5XL: Fans have been asking for it, and Bradford delivered today. It features a 4-inch MagnaCut blade and a newly designed sheath offering both vertical and horizontal carry. Being a true-and-blue American-made fixed blade, it could slide perfectly onto your GORUCK rig for those state park treks.

  • McNees Mini Dixon: Also announced today, this is a scaled-down version of their classic folder, boasting a compact 3.35-inch MagnaCut blade.

Dropping Tomorrow (June 3)

  • Ansø of Denmark Toko: Releasing tomorrow, this button-lock features a skeletonised black titanium Exoframe. They managed to strip the flipper's weight down to a mere 2.86 ounces, outfitting it with a versatile RWL34 steel drop-point blade.

1. Bear & Son Cutlery Declassifies BLADE Show Lineup (May 26)

Just yesterday, Bear & Son officially announced what they are deploying to Booth #5 in Atlanta, and it is a heavy payload of Alabama-made steel.

  • The New Folders: They are debuting their brand-new 3 ¾" and 5" Slidelock Folders, alongside a 4" Stainless Steel Framelock Assisted Opener.

  • The Traditional Workhorses: They are expanding their farm and field categories with the new 3 5/8" Locking Farmhand series.

  • The Butterfly Arsenal: As one of the largest balisong manufacturers in the US, they confirmed they are bringing an extensive assortment of premium 4" and 5" butterfly knives in 440 Stainless and Damascus.

  • The Milestone: They are also slated to unveil highly anticipated 250th Anniversary commemorative models.

2. BLADE Show 45th Anniversary Hype (May 25-27)

The industry chatter this week is completely dominated by the fact that BLADE Show is celebrating its 45th year. The word on the wire is that custom makers and major production companies alike have been pulling all-nighters to finish prototypes and show-exclusive variants. The scramble is real, and the tables at the Cobb Galleria are expected to be absolutely packed with never-before-seen drops.

3. Kershaw: The 50th Anniversary "Tilt" Re-Release

Kershaw is celebrating 50 years in the business at BLADE Show, and they just dropped a massive bombshell. They are officially bringing back the legendary Tilt.

  • The Intel: Long-time collectors will remember the original Tilt from 2012—it was lightyears ahead of its time. The 2026 50th Anniversary edition keeps that aggressive, angular wharncliffe shape but updates it with a stunning composite blade (CPM-CruWear on the edge, 14C28N on the spine).

  • The Chassis: It features a titanium sub-frame lock with carbon fiber scale inserts. This is a massive, premium release for Kershaw and it will absolutely dominate their booth.

Note: Kershaw also declassified a wave of new standard models heading to the show, including the Mini Iridium (a scaled-down DuraLock favorite) and the Cybernet (a very unique manual OTF).

4. Cold Steel: The Premium Deployments

Cold Steel is heading to Atlanta with a very clear mission: premium materials. They are stepping away from their standard budget-friendly beaters and bringing some high-end hardware to the tables:

  • MagnaCut Recon 1: They are finally giving the legendary, full-size 4-inch Recon 1 the premium treatment, upgrading the blade steel to CPM-MagnaCut.

  • Titanium AD-10: Andrew Demko’s famous AD-10 design is getting two highly limited, serial-numbered runs featuring full titanium handles and 3V blade steel.

  • The Caledonian Edge: They are reviving this long-discontinued, Scottish dirk-inspired folder, but upgrading it with a CPM-20CV blade and titanium/carbon fiber handles.

5. Hogue Knives: The Ballista II Auto

For your tactical and automatic enthusiasts, American-made Hogue Knives just declassified the Ballista II.

  • The Intel: They completely redesigned the Ballista profile. The new version evokes the classic, symmetrical lines of a vintage Italian stiletto switchblade, but it is built for modern tactical use.

  • The Specs: It features a single-edged CPM-MagnaCut spear point blade (to keep it legally compliant in more areas), black anodized aluminum handles with carbon fiber inserts, and a blue anodized pivot collar. It is a stunning piece of push-button American manufacturing.

6. LionSteel: The "Twain" Integral

On the imported premium side, Italy’s LionSteel just announced the Twain. LionSteel is famous for their "Solid" integral knives (handles milled from a single block of titanium), but the Twain is being touted as the first "Solid 2" knife, meaning the handle is ingeniously comprised of two separate integral pieces locked together. It is a major machining flex that will draw a lot of eyes.
